Under normal conditions, the certificate is usually ready in approximately one calendar week from the visit and receipt of the required documents.
Validity and importance
The energy certificate has a general maximum validity of 10 years, except when the rating is G, in which case the maximum validity is 5 years. The new EU directive on the energy performance of buildings is reinforcing the importance of these certificates and their relationship with the value, financing and future renovation of properties. Its specific application will depend on the Spanish regulations and regional rules that are developed.
